About Us

Founded in 2019, the Mizzou Chess Program is a partnership between the University of Missouri and the Saint Louis Chess Club. Collegiate chess has been experiencing a meteoric rise at the national level, and Missouri quickly became the epicenter of the movement through strategic investments and the pursuit of top tier players and coaches. Through its tradition of excellence, Mizzou has always strived for the best. Mizzou Chess will work towards raising the bar and bringing our institution’s ethos of Respect, Responsibility, Discovery and Excellence to the chess board.

The Team

Our coach is currently in the process of recruiting highly ranked titled players to play under the Black and Gold banner. Mizzou Chess is always looking for highly driven, skilled young players who are ready to commit to a rigorous training program and work hard to reach their full potential both academically and at the chess board. The roster will be complete and ready for competition in Fall 2019. Follow us on Twitter for future updates and keep an eye on this page as we begin to unravel our champions in the coming months!

Mizzou Chess Scholarship
